We had a letter a week or so ago telling us that Sir would be receiving an award at a special assembly, which was held today.
He received the Class Award from his teacher for “In recognition for his outstanding contribution to Lower M/W”
The head of school said it was also because of how well he had settled in and overcome his anxieties. Needless to say he didn’t go to the front to collect his certificate so the man from the board of governors went to him 😀 He had his photo taken and everyone applauded him. I was a very proud Mum! He did very well to stay in the theatre for almost an hour until the awards ceremony was over. Then he and some other children left as the Leavers assembly began.
I confess I did sneak out shortly after, because I had to pick Madam up from school.
I love the awards assemblies, the look on the kids faces as they hear their names read out and the pride of the parents as you hear how they have done and how far they have come, all I might say one small step at a time 😉
