#SSAmazingAcheivements 29/07/2015 Swimming

How about that I’m on time for a change!

This week it’s both the kids who have done well and at the same thing!

They both have swimming lessons at school and although Madam’s teacher tells me how she’s been getting on, I don’t really find out about Sir.

On holiday we took full advantage of the lovely swimming pool area. Madam’s armbands had a leak so there was no way she could wear them. However floatation jackets are provided by Centreparcs for free at the poolside so we put one of those on her. After a while she said she wanted to take it off and try swimming without any aid. She did really well! She wasn’t afraid at all, she tried to dive under the water – even though it wasn’t all that deep and may have even swam a foot or so!

Sir is really too big and too heavy for his armbands but insists on wearing them anyway. I fail to see that they physically help him float to be honest but still. He swam all the way out to the deep end of the pool with no problem at all. Hubby went with him and in his opinion Sir may as well have not had the armbands on and was more or less swimming unaided πŸ˜€ all he needs is the confidence to lose the armbands.

  1. We love swimming here too. It’s such an important lifeskill, and it sounds like your two are doing really well in their lessons. And Centreparcs… We went there for the first time a few months ago and it was AMAZING. Their swimming pool was just fantastic. Loved it and can’t wait to go back. #SSAmazingAchievements

  2. Well done! Confidence is half the battle. Swimming is so important especially for us living in Holland and surrounded by water! #SSAmazingAchievements

  3. Great progress for both, hopefully you’ll find in time that Sir forgets to put on his armbands and will the realise that it’s all okay without them. D was the same and now she loves to swim and splash – mostly splash!
Sometimes it’s just that little (mostly visual) aid and comforter that they’ll cling to until they’re ready to let go.
    Well done to Madam too.
Thanks for linking up with #SSAmazingAchievements πŸ™‚

How lovely that you got to see them swimming at Centre parcs. We went for the first time this minute and we loved every minute. It sounds like those swimming lessons have paid off. I hope Sir gains his confidence soon #SSAmazingAchievements
