#SSAmazingAchievements Doing Well at School

Normally I write about something Sir has done but this week I’d like to give the #SSAmazingAchievement over to Madam 🙂 She is a carrier for Fragile X and whilst she is not as badly affected as Sir, she does have her problems. She really struggles with maths and writing. Sometimes she will refuse point blank to any school work because she thinks she can’t do it. Her teacher and her support worker or buddy as she calls her are fabulous. The support worker is a TA who works with several other kids as well as Madam. She has a firm but fair approach and I really like her.

When the kids do some really good work they get given “Amazing Learner”cards. On the front is the name of the teacher who gave it out and on the back is the reason why.

This week Madam came home with a whole pile of them. She had accumulated some in her drawer but at least half a dozen of them were earned in one day! They were for all sorts of things, reading, writing, maths, topic work, I was so proud 🙂

This week I’m linking with Jane http://ourlittleescapades.com/2015/06/small-steps-amazing-achievements-3rd-june-2015/

This is fantastic. I love when schools give out awards like this. Not only is it good for the children but it is good for us parents too.

Thanks for linking up with Small Steps Amazing Achievements :0)
