Review Alfie Boe at the LG Arena Birmingham

Fabulous. Wonderful. Awesome. Boy has that bloke got a decent set of pipes!!!

This is my 2nd time seeing Alfie live. Last time he let his inner Rock God run riot for the whole concert… this time he kept it on a tighter leash. But that didn’t stop it escaping every now and now again… 😀

A real mix of Italian folk songs from Serenata, Trust and Keep Me In Your Heart from Trust, some musical theatre – yes Bring Him Home.. still the best version, Come What May was wonderful.

No Nessun Dorma 😦 I was a bit disappointed about that, but maybe his throat problems are still lurking. Not that you’d have noticed to be honest.

If I’ve a small criticism it’s that set changes were not smooth, took a little too long and left the audience slightly confused.

Alfie sang his heart out and the audience lapped up every minute. The two newly added songs from Quadrophenia went down a storm. I would love to see that!

Brilliant night despite the lousy weather.

Come back soon Alfie!
